Hello world!

Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at creating a blog. Allow me to introduce myself, so we can get better acquainted. My name is Gabriela and I’m 42 years old. I have lived in Portugal all my life and two years ago I decided to create a tour company focused on creating experiences and long-lasting memories. If there´s something peculiar about the Portuguese people is their gigantic love for their homeland. We love our cities, our people, our language, and our food.

Let me be clear, we really, really love it. A love so big it could fill up stadiums, which in this middle pandemic world we are living in, it´s all right because you´ll be all by yourself anyway!

We often refer to our birth cities as My Porto, or My Lisbon. And even though we are a very small country, with just 11 million habitants, we sure are different in our costumes, traditions, and accents. But despite our differences, we all fall as one under the red and green of our flag. We all get teary eyes when the national anthem is being played, and it sure is true we can all be defined by the three “f´s”: fado, football, and Fátima.

I do intend to let y’all in on our music (fado), our love of soccer, and our faith (Fátima). I also aim to show you our people, people whom I meet around the country that have amazing life stories to tell. I want you to get to know them, hear them out, and be inspired by them. Doesn´t matter where you are from or what language you speak, getting to know amazing people is a good way to know about a place and its traditions. We are social beings after all, and the only thing I can think of that’s better than telling a story is hearing it from the protagonists themselves.

So, I will be talking about my Porto, about my beaches, my food, and my wine. Introducing you to amazing people, my people, and sharing their stories and businesses. Hoping to inspire you and make you feel connected to a place you’re only passing by. Making my Porto, your Porto, making you feel what Maya Angelou said: “We are more alike, my friends than we are unalike.”

I hope I got your interest, please follow my blog, and let´s see each other when you’re ready to make some memories, all right?
